In 1997 father and son Alex and James Verbeeck started Europa 2000. The company specialized in folding and stackable furniture. After setting up a dealer network and solid client base in Belgium, the entrepeneurs quickly aimed for expansion in other countries. And with success…over a decade later Europa 2000 had become one of Europe´s market leaders in folding & stackable furniture.

In 2007 this lead to the merger with Lamata Contract Furniture in the UK, hereby solidifying their position in Europe. Lamata has been a well-known name in the UK market for over 40 years. It operates from Cheltenham and also has its own manufacturing facility, allowing for made to order solutions.

By combining the strengths of both Europa 2000 and Lamata, both companies have developed in to more mature organizations.
