🌟 Tomorrow, our Managing Director, Eddie Czestochowski embarks on his long-planned pilgrimage, following the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. Eddie will trek across the ancient route that ends at the famous Cathedral. 🏔️ Having climbed to Everest Base Camp in 2010 (see picture), Eddie viewed that achievement as reaching the top of his world. Now, in 2024, he aims to walk to the edge of his world, as it was known in medieval times. 👣 We wish him well on his journey and look forward to hearing his stories. 🎉 His challenge is part of our company-wide celebrations to mark 25 years of Cell Pack Solutions. Today, we have R&D and production in five countries and a workforce of around 430 people. Cell Pack Solutions has expertise in building battery packs for extreme conditions, and caters to various sectors, including utilities, oceanography, security, medical, instrumentation, tracking, environmental research, and IoT. Tracer Power, a well-known brand of high-performance lithium batteries, is also part of Cell Pack. Tracer batteries are trusted across industries worldwide and have powered applications from the Arctic to the Sahara. They are used in sectors such as Surveillance & Security, Media Production, Construction, and Emergency Services. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we're taking a trip down memory lane. This week, let's rewind to 2011. We continued to outgrow our space at TEDCO Business Support Ltd and had the opportunity to move to our own purpose-built premises. This fly-tippers jungle would be transformed into Cell Pack Solutions HQ! In doing so, it would check off one of the company's main goals... In 100 days, we'll be participating in our 5th Jarrow Relay for Life, that is aiming to reach £1,000,000 raised for Cancer Research UK (since it first started). Why Relay For Life? We're raising funds for Cancer Research UK after our friend and M.D., Eddie, was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2018. Following his diagnosis, we participated in our first relay that year to provide him with a target to aim towards while he underwent treatment. The event and the act of setting goals proved immensely beneficial for him, and he set the incredible goal of one day walking the El Camino de Santiago—hence the name, Next Stop Santiago. The Camino de Santiago is an ancient pilgrim route that stretches across Europe. Eddie plans to also undertake the additional route, the Camino to Finisterre, which was known as the pilgrimage to the end of the world in Medieval times. Having climbed to Everest Base Camp in 2010, Eddie viewed it as reaching the top of the world. Now, in 2024, he aims to walk to the edge of his world by undertaking his own pilgrimage. Once Eddie returns from his pilgrimage, we'll embark on our 5th Jarrow Relay for Life (plus 2 virtual walks and a Tees Valley Relay for Life). An event that has become a permanent fixture in all of the teams calendar! Yes, it was Eddies diagnosis back in 2018 that pushed us to do our first Relay (We wished we'd took part sooner), but Cancer is a cruel disease that has touched many of the CPS team and over the years, we've used it to set goals, make memories and remember our loved ones.
