Cutture is very proud to support a number of charities in their fundraising galas, identifying the balance between messaging and gaining attendance to the all important fundraising events. Founded by Dominic and Helen Sharland in 2009, Cutture began after merging their previous businesses of Graphic Design and Architectural model making. Cutture’s design and making team is small but perfectly formed and all products are proudly British made, largely in house. With Helen and Dominic’s meticulous eye for detail and over 20 years experience working the creative industries, and 13 in the event industry, they have become leaders in their field and the first point of call for event planners and brands to turn to for exceptional design and craftsmanship. Focussing on reliably sourced materials and supply chain, Dominic and Helen are always manufacturing sustainably, using traditional and contemporary print techniques for every project. Cutture's exceptional attention to detail is one piece of post you won't ever want to throw away, they are treasured on desks and mantel pieces for months, if not years, after the event! enquiries@cutture.com www.cutture.com

A Business for good // in light of Earth Day earlier this week we felt it was time to share some of the work we’ve been doing in the background this past year on our now very substantial sustainability and social equity statement… Our drive to be ecologically responsible has been present from the outset of Cutture’s existence back in 2009, in fact it is the reason we have landed in the ‘Luxury’ sector. Being in the Luxury sector within the UK can be misunderstood, but actually it’s a world that needs to be championed and praised for being a beating drum for British craftsmanship, innovation and creativity. Ultimately it means it is full of true craftsmanship, responsible material sourcing and production here in the UK, something we have fiercely fought for over the years, often to our detriment, so as not to outsource to unethical processes abroad. Why are we so passionate about this? It is our responsibility as business owners to look into all areas of sustainability, social equity and how our businesses can be a force for good (see Portas!) Being ‘Sustainable’ is so much more than recycling paper as we now all know, for us it’s about designing to work towards a Circular economy, it’s about all of our paper coming from the Lake District (G . F Smith & @JamesCropperplc it’s about our own supply chain, exceptional printers who practice their own ethical and ecological stands as well as our laser cutters. When we produced our own laser cutting we ensured all waste was reused or recycled, we continuously design to achieve maximum yields to minimise waste and ultimately we design our products to be kept forever. Our social equity vision is currently working towards helping parents come back to work, but to work flexibly around their families. The feedback we receive is that making our products has been ‘therapeutic’ and giving Mothers sense of themselves back after years of raising families, beginning to be able to work again but flexibly has been invaluable. We are also acting as Mentors for @iwespa supporting and championing the brilliant talent with the Event industry over in Zambia. Our business for good is such a driver for us, we continue to learn and innovate. Our aim is to become @bcorp certified and gain our @positiveluxury butterfly mark in time.  If you would like a full copy of our Suitability sustainment for your own records if we are a part of your supply chain, please e mail us on enquiries@cutture.com

Last Monday saw the inaugural 'Diversity in Luxury Awards', founded by Elizabeth Solaru of Elizabeth Cakes Emporium. A true celebration of trailblaizing brands that are leading the way with Diversity and Inclusivity in the Luxury industries. It was such an uplifting and positive start to 2024 to have both attended this beautiful event, but also to have been part of the founding team that helped make it happen alongside Elizabeth. When Elizabeth first talked to us about the awards sharing her passion and knowledge for this important area, we felt fully aligned with the need for these awards to happen.
We set to work on creating a new Brand that truly reflected the cause, one that would be timeless and state simple elegance, with strong undertones throughout and went on to design and produce the actual awards themselves and the digital invitation to the event. We were keen for these awards to be as sustainable as possible and equally ones that would stand proud on the shelf through the test of time. "As founder of this event, I could not be prouder of the many luxury brands, experts, media and even Lords and Ladies coming together to honour the trailblazers and innovators shaping a more inclusive definition of luxury. The awe-inspiring winners span from design icons to ethical initiatives" - Elizabeth Solaru Our role was also to Judge one category of the awards, for which we were very honoured to have been asked. After much discussion, we felt it would be important to have a category honouring the inclusivity and accessibility area of the arena, as a Brand who has hired employees who are less abled, as well as personal experience within family, we were keen for this area to be covered. Elizabeth created the 'Luxury Inclusivity Innovation' Award as our category which Helen presented on the day.
The Awards themselves were held at Hotel Cafe Royal, with Elizabeth's vision and with the help of the brilliant Event planner Charlotte Ricard-Quesada, of La Fête Events they created a really wonderful luncheon, perfectly curated and executed. (Genius idea to have an awards ceremony at lunchtime too!) There is a brilliant write-up of the full event by Media Partner 5* wedding Directory for all the imagery and details of the event itself, link in the comments >>> Huge Congratulations to Elizabeth and here's to next year!
